To establish a newly created research area in timber construction at our Suhl location, we are seeking a committed Wood Technologist (m/f/d) starting from May 1, 2026 (initially limited until December 31, 2027).

Training will take place at our Weimar location. Due to construction measures and the establishment of the research site, the primary workplace will be Suhl.

Your tasks
  • Support research and development activities in the field of timber construction
  • Work along the entire process chain of wood processing
  • Operation, supervision, and further development of wood processing machines and systems
  • Participation in the setup of laboratory, testing, and process structures as part of a new establishment
  • Contribution to the operation of testing, experimental, and demonstration structures within research projects
  • Documentation of processes, experiments, and results in close cooperation with scientific staff
  • Support in the further development of the Timber Construction Competence Center
Your skills
  • Completed degree in wood technology / timber engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Solid knowledge in wood processing and handling of wood-processing machinery
  • Interest in science-related, application-oriented research
  • Structured, independent, and careful working style
  • Ability to work in a team and enthusiasm for building new structures and processes
  • Very good command of German (native speaker or at least B2 level) and good
  • English skills (at least B1 level), both written and spoken
  • Class B driving license
