IAB Profile

The IAB – Weimar Institute of Applied Construction Research was founded in 2012 by the merger of IFF (Institut für Fertigteiltechnik und Fertigbau) and FITR (Forschungsinstitut für Tief- und Rohrleitungsbau) Weimar. The headquarters of the business-oriented research institute is in Weimar. The core competences include the fields of building materials and process engineering, construction systems and components, civil engineering and pipeline construction as well as energy and building services.

the needs of our clients. Together we design efficient, sustainable solutions both at the detail and systems level.

Structure

The scientific competence of the IAB Weimar comprises three research areas and the respective subordinate departments. The administration of the Institute organizes and regulates the business activities of the non-profit limited liability company. The FIAB e. V. and the GIB (Gesellschaft für Innovation im Bauen) mbH represent the respective goals and interests.
