To establish the newly emerging research division for timber construction at our Suhl location, we are looking for a dedicated Timber Construction Engineer, Building Services Engineer / Connection Technology Specialist, or Civil Engineer with solid expertise in connection technologies for hybrid timber construction, starting on 01 May 2026 (initially limited until 31 December 2027).

The onboarding phase will take place at our Weimar site. As part of the construction activities and the establishment of the research location, the future place of work is planned to be in the city of Suhl.

Your tasks
  • Contributing to the development and further advancement of the timber construction research division
  • Investigation, development, and evaluation of connection systems in hybrid and multi-reusable timber construction technologies
  • Planning, preparation, and supervision of experiments in the field of hybrid timber structures and non-destructive connection solutions
  • Technical support for research and development projects in structural timber engineering
  • Analysis, documentation, and evaluation of experimental results in collaboration with scientific staff
  • Participation in setting up testing, experimental, and demonstration structures
  • Practice-oriented collaboration with companies
Your Skills
  • Completed degree in timber engineering, civil engineering, building services engineering, connection technology, or a comparable field
  • Solid knowledge of connection methods and joining techniques in hybrid and reusable timber construction
  • Interest in application-oriented research close to scientific practice
  • Structured, analytical, independent, and careful working style
  • Team spirit and enthusiasm for building new structures and processes
  • Very good German skills (native speaker or at least B2 level) and good English skills (at least B1 level), both written and spoken
  • Driving license class B
